I've never heard of that distinction but food grade tilapia, maybe all male. I raise a few species of tilapia aquaponically, if you do have any questions.

According to their site the "food variety" are chosen from the same genetic line for their ability to grow fast and yes they are both male and female. So ultimately either would work, especially if you planning to breed them.
I would look to other sources for info than that one site, as there is debatable info posted on their IMO.(they are claiming to grow Wami's to a pound in a few months???)
Yes, they are one of the easiest cichlids to breed.
The food grade grow really fast and eat a lot. They get big fast and that way you can eat them quickly, but you can still eat the aquaponic tilapia. The aquaponic tilapia is regular tilapia and the food grade tilapia is a special fast growing GMO variety.
