So I keep my tank at 87 in a attempt to avoid an ick break out in the baby bass tank (1.75").

Did a 50% water change the night before in the 135 gallon growout. Im thinking that waterchange may have stressed them out leading to an ick outbreak. Before the waterchange i had aquarium salt in the tank but didnt readd any after the water change.

Question is should I bump up the temp even more and add salt? Or should I resort to meds. On the other side of the 135g I have a 4"armatus that doesnt seem to be affected yet as well as a couple loaches.

Wow, I'm amazed any ich could survive at that temperature. I would remove the fish to a separate cycled tank if possible and salt and lower temp to 82 but spike it back to 86 for a day, then lower back to 82. The heat and salt would be too hard on your loaches IMO and they tend contract ich easily, I'm surprised they aren't showing any symptoms.

Well I just noticed 1 or two white spots on the loaches as well. I dont have a spare tank at the moment to house all 9 small fish at the moment.

I've bumped the temp up to 88 in hopes that I see some improvement. I may even go 90.

First time Ive ever had to deal with ick. Are normal feeding schedules and water changes still ok to do?

I've heard of heat resistant strains of ich but personally have never encountered any. Could you post a pic just to be sure, I hate to recommend meds without any pics...

Sure I can take a pic tomorrow morning. Ill have to turn everything off in the tank as I have a lot of oxygen flowing through the tank, it would be impossible to get a nice clear pic with all those bubbles blowing around. The white spots are really moderate right now, about 2-3 at the most in each fish.

Because you have loaches in there i would avoid all medication or chemical at this moment. Even salt go half of the dose off it recommend. There not much you can do right now as you already have done the right thing. Increase water change, increase temp and increase oxygen level. I would however shut the light of until ick is gone.

Super ich?

Didnt know there was a name for it, then again never had to deal with ick.

OK wasnt sure if doing waterchanges was a good idea or not. Last water change was Saturday I believe, Ill do a 20-30% WC today? Good idea about the light

vacuum your substrate as well.

Luckily I dont have to deal with substrate this one is bare bottom

What ever your water change schedule is I would do more often. For sample if you do 80% weekly, I would do 40% every 3 days until the ick is gone.
