Trying to decide on a third tankmate before the other two get too big. The RTCxTSN is about 9", the TSN is about 6. Both are very docile but growing quickly. They're currently in a 100 gal and will soon be in a 600 gal
(7'x4'x3'), and down the road will be moved into an indoor pond that's at least 1500 gallons. So size isn't too much of an issue. I'm more concerned with growth rate, I don't want to get anything that grows too slowly and will become dinner for the cats.

I'm always drawn towards catfish, but kinda want to change it up a bit and add some variety, and possibly something that's more active during the day. A peaceful community is a must, so something non-agressive would be great.

I'm just having trouble narrowing it down because I just want every monster I see... I keep coming back to Niger Catfish and Clown Knife. Anyone have any suggestions or comments on these two possibilities?

You could do a RTC since you like cats, or an eel/poly. A couple poly's (Rarer species) would look cool, or you could get a fire eel.

Not too into the RTC. Eel and poly are both on my list, I'm just concerned about their slender shape being a problem with the huge mouths of the other guys. Maybe I could get away with Congicus, will look into growth rates. Thanks

Have you seen a well fed poly? About slender now...

haha yes, but tsn's and rtc's have been known to eat fish fatter than that, and they grow faster than the poly's, and except for the congi they usually stay smaller than the cats, well within dinner range.

Have you had success keeping them together? I've read a bunch of people saying they've done it and had problems

No. I don't have a big enough tank for cats like that.
