So shop about 2 hours and change from me has some black aros for about 100 bucks. What would the main concern be to keep the aro alive and healthy during the drive? Heat?oxygen? Im central california the shop is in Sacramento. I've been there before to purchase large aquariums so its not a long trip but for a fish in a bag it might be. Thanks

Just make sure you make a proper effort to cover the bag and acclimate it as soon as you can with the addition of ammonia neutralizers and you should be good :)

If you are worried about heat or plan to make any stops and shut your car AC off then bring a cooler. Keep the cooler in the car with the lid off until the stop so that its cool inside it. Then put the fish bag in the cooler and put the lid on. Even without ice this should keep the bag temp steady for a several minutes at least. Also running AC in this hot weather may cause your fish to get too cold so keep the AC low. I live in Sac and I buy fish from Exotic. Its pretty amazing how fast the temp will change in a bag of water in just 15 minutes of exposure to heat or cold. I think temperature will be your only worry.
