Do Flowerhorns grow at a slow rate?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yah fhs are fast growers i have kept 4 in past and all most all of them grew to about 6+ inches in 3 or 4 months from mere 2 inches so they do grow fast may be it is a female or short body types any pics

Kamfa Flowerhorns tend to be slow growers because of the vieja genes but its unlikely that its a kamfa. It could be the more common Red Dragon and the Jag just dominates the FH. Stress can stunt the growth of it

Fh grow fast in high temp. 84 deg and feed it 3 to 5 times a day if want it to grow fast. That also helps the kok grow.. keep temp at least 82.

Interesting stuff. No stress really in the tank right now. It's a 55 gallon with a few other aggressive fish, but they are all relatively small and get along well right now. I am setting up a 125 for a quick transition next week, and then once the 400 is cycled they will go into that.

^^^^I wouldnt keep a Jag along with a flowerhorn and much lees with other tank mates. Jag would end up thining your tank stocking, it doesnt matter you keep them in a 125 gal.

I had a short body thai silk, i got it when oit was a half of inch and kept it in a 55 By itself (you should keep flowerhorns by themself) and it grew to 5 nches in 4 months
