polys swimming w/ sharks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Anubia Barteri. I attach the rhizomes to zip ties and suction cups to back wall. I did this to give my polys more floor space. Since it was the only hide under the shaded plants. Several would just stay in the shade. So, I put the darn rock there to eliminate that.

Yea, Ik they aren't crazy but them and a lot of their cousins have been known to be nippers, I had a foot long leporinus who was good with cichlids and plenty other aggressive fish, only ing that lasted with an Asian red tail cat cause he was faster, he nipped at that thing a lot, I got rid of him when I decided to get back into bichirs. And I saw a large one in a 240 with a lot of other large fish, maybe it was wc then, or maybe just a similar looking species that grows larger. Just thought I'd warn you though lol.

Appreciate it. I've never owned a leporinus but heard about their aggressive behaviors. The bumblebee look on them is just a dead giveaway for being a bully.

Yea, mine had a nice orange throat they get when they get some size on them. They're nice fish to keep but for semi-aggressive - aggressive comms, and polys aren't really aggressive but predatory.
