The cop shooting that deserves attention

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
After all...we needed more cops/people shot by this guy. But I heard the shooter did himself in. So it was a robot then?
Yeah some sort of robot with tank like wheels.

They just 'cleared' this up(on TV) by saying it was a mistake that the shooter shot himself
Lol so there was no explosion?.....sounds like a damage control cover job to me.

There was an explosion. Early reports were he shot himself. Then they said police shot him.

From what I gather police blew his ass up. Left wing media says basically "They sent in a robot..." without actually saying there was a bomb attached and that's what they did.. Right wing media says basically "They sent in a robot with a bomb and ended that problem.." Apparently when you have a sniper in a hard to get to local. That's what you do. Makes sense. You kill people without a reason to do so with no threat to your life. You deserve a horrible death.

/I owe you like keg of beer at this point btw. You're just too right on all the time.

Further for anyone commenting on this topic of cops shooting people. If you live outside of the U.S. Your opinion is really irrelevant. Different laws. Different people. Different situations. Most nations a civilian can't even own a gun. Guns aren't really the problem. Ass-hattery and criminals are. It's rampant in any neighborhood that you wouldn't want to really live in. And there are lots of them. Yeah I'm redundant. But you get the point.

If anyone from outside the U.S. would like to make a anti-gun statement. I can book you a room in the worse part of Chicago. You'll be safe there. Guns are illegal there. So no one would ever shoot you.

I agree with what someone said earlier. If I were videotaping a traffic stop. It seems like I'm expecting something to go wrong. I don't video tape mine or even a friends. Lastly if my loved one got shot, I don't upload it immediately. The trauma would be greater than my attention wants.

And yes I have a license to carry. Even when I'm not carrying. Once pulled over. My hands go no where in the car or on my person until the cop is at the window and tells me to reach for something. And I'm white with a clear everything.

There are rules that will keep you safe while legally carrying. I'm gonna assume this guy wasn't using his head.

Stay tuned for a showdown between Sheriff Clarke and Jesse Jackson on Megan in a few minutes.

I carry, all know this, that being said there are things you need to do to be safe. and I am no way saying the guy in the car should have been shot, cops bad and will pay for that.
1. if you carry on the right, keep your wallet in the left.
2. let know one speak for you, or assume that they have, until you have looked the police officer in the eye, have calmly stated I am a CPL and I am armed, and state ware it is and ask how he would like to proceed.
3. until he has recognized this and instructed you on how he wants to proceed your hands do not leave the wheel or move any ware out of site.
4. once instructed how he wishes to proceed make your movements known and why, as in my wallet is in my left pocked and I am going to reach for that.

its all about safety, for you and him. The stop is all about a traffic violation, there is no reason to blurt out I have a gun and licence for it., the word "gun" should never be used.

greet the officer and calmly let him know, and ask how he would like to proceed.

Sheriff Clarke never disappoints lol!

This is the most sound advice I have heard here in a while.

there are 3 ways the officer may instruct, the usual is he will ask you to leave it ware it is, thank you for letting him know, and then ask for your licence and insurance and bla bla bla, you still let him know what you are reaching for and ware. second is for you to hand it to him, while you are in the car, he will set it on the hood and proceed with the stop. Third is to step out of the car and he disarms you. then proceeds with the stop returning your fire arm when done.

I am not a fan of handing it to him. rather leave it ware it is, or remove from me, reason being its loaded with one in the chamber, and I am reaching for my gun. rather he does that than me.

What a dumb ass thing to say. Different laws, yes, less guns, yes, and less shootings.(what a surprise!) You think that one can only find crazy people and slums in the USA? Or that only in the USA, cops shoot civilians? LOL, buy a clue. My first trip through Chicago was probably before most on this forum were born, and from where I grew up (on the Canadian side of the Detroit River) we were close enough to hear the guns/bombs/etc during the riots. There are plenty of well organized criminals, gangs, and ass hattery, in countries other than just the USA. Some of us foreigners also have friends and family that live in the USA, and having been around for a few odd years now I think that I am more than qualified to comment on this subject, with or without anyone's else's approval. Thanks
