How big do these guys get. I have one and am trying to decide its long term plan. Thanks

I've read that these fish can grow to 10 inches with females getting smaller around 6 inches. Very neat fish their mouths remind me of datnoids

How aggressive do they tend to get? Can adult go in a 300 with a mixed pike community and a leichardti arrowana?

They act more as predatory fish then aggressive fish, from my understanding they're just aggressive toward others of the same species and anything able to fit in its mouth which is surprisingly a lot. I heard someone keep 4 and the biggest tried to eat the smallest of the group

They have high conspecific aggression. Mine are still small but I have one that chases any fish around. As a rule, they should be ok. But as always, you may have an aggressive one.

On another note, I've had bad luck keeping Caquetaia with other cichlids in the past due to them jaw locking with other fish and getting severely injured where the jaw would break slowly killing the fish.

He could live out his life in a 90G as a solitary fish. Myersi do not get along with their own kind at all (at least in my experience) and are easily stressed if with a more aggressive species. Unless you have a much larger tank, best to keep him by himself as a 'show fish'. ...

Here's a look at one of my Caquetaia myersi, a very unique looking and behaving cichlid from Columbia, South America, with a personality all its own. It's presently about 8" and is about 20 months of age.
