im planning out how to go about changing all my fish from their current tank to the new one after i get it all set and stable

any advice on the best method of swapping them? only thing i can really think of is either drop them in or bag them and let sit neither seem great for them.

Make sure the parameters are very similar. Use water from the tank that you are going to move them to for water changes, assuming there are no fish in it. After that I would just use a left over bag from the lfs and drip acclimate them.

Honestly, when I upgrade my tanks or move fish from qt to their main tank I just make sure temps are close and just net them over. My water parameters are all very close in l my tanks (5). I guess if I had very sensitive fish then maybe drop acclimating might be called for. What kind of fish do you have?

if you do nothing special to your current water, you have stayed on a good water change schedule and using the same water source, long as temps close just move them over along with the old filters. net and drop.

no reason to move old water over as long as all is yes from above, its just old water, nothing special about it.

I'll just echo what's been said. If the temps are close enough just move them over.

water source will be same city water. won't be swapping any filters or any other pieces besides a 1 or 2 tank pieces whole filtration setup is new going from a 55 to 180 that I just filled and started running 2 aqua clear 110s in.

As long as you're using the same media just toss the fish in when the tanks are at the same temp.
