I know. The aqueon 180g new was like $600 with glass canopy. The marineland was like $230-240 more. I bought RJ stand which is higher quality than the marineland/aqueon. You are handy and can probably build your own.

It was this transaction that really ticked me off. I paid to rent a truck and showed up to pick the tank and it was not there. I verified twice that it was on-site and they confirmed. Wasted my time and money. Then it became a fiasco to get it :)

Rough man i know the struggles haha i built a rock hard stand for my 270 pentair but with glass i would just buy a nice one especially to make sure its 100% even

The pine RJ stand I bought which is quite nice was another $500. You might be able to find cheaper if you shop around. Much nicer than the other pine stands. If you want really secure/nice you need to go with oak which is alot more.

There is a member on this sight that makes high quality steel stands at a very reasonable price. If I went bigger I would have had him make the stand. You can then just buy some magnets/velcro to attach acrylic paneling that you can buy cheap online in any color you want.

My marineland stand has held up pretty good. It's light as hell and looks like it would crumble under the tanks weight but figured it's been pretty throughly tested otherwise marineland would be having some serious legal issues.

I agree completely. Trust me, I was in shock when our 265 gallon Majesty stand showed up at the store. I couldn't believe something so, seemingly weakly constructed could hold up the weight of the 265 gallon tank. But, they wouldn't have a Lifetime Warranty on the tank, if they thought their stands wouldn't hold up.

Our 300 gallon Marineland Deep Dimension Monterey stand is 100 times nicer and more sturdy.

The store in NJ may be Tropiquarium in Wannamassa or Ocean twshp near Asbury park
They have great prices on all tanks
Their claim to fame is tanks are sold at cost
Great deals on all tanks
And actually all their prices are good, tanks as well as equipment and food
Plus some impressive display tanks
