It really is a gorgeous tank, and it was a donation! I hope I can do it justice.
There might be one running in pets place 2 on rt59 in NY....not sure if it's same though ...I'm going there next week

seriously though awesome tank! haven't seen
one of these oddball tanks in a long time. pretty
much what everyone said is the best way to fix
this tank. remove old silicone completely and
redo everything. if not the tank will fail along the
way.
get some razor blades, silicone, caulking gun,
guitar string, clamps and some bar keepers friends.
then your ready for a new repair project.

What are bar keepers friends?
Because part of the lower tank has dry rot, I guess that means I have to replace the entire bottom. I'm just going to take it apart. ill show you guys what im doing as i go.
Soooo first i take off the upper brace.......
bar keepers friends is a glass cleaning powder used in bars to clean glass.
makes the glass look like new! its a miracle worker for cleaning old dirty tanks.
just make sure you rinse the tank out well and there arent any stuck between
the frame/brace. and take the frame/brace off start scraping the old silicone off.
