DMD123 DMD123 been trying to decide if there are enough differences between the two to warrant getting a faranah.

Figure we can all post pics of our dabola/faranah and state our thoughts.

Hers mine and as of now i wouldnt say the differences are that far off between both . Keep in mind my faranah is much smaller than the dabola and not settled in yet. So far i agree with Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683 the head shape of the faranah are a bit more elongated where the dabola is a bit more stout. Also the faranah is a smidge more tan and the dabola a kind of chocolate. But i dont think the differences are too far off.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I have 2 endli dabola's and a faranah endlicheri. The faranah endlicheri is a very nice darkish brown color, as is one of the endli dabola's. However, the other endli dabolas displays more of a gray or tan color.

Headshape: both the endli dabola's heads are flat, but the brownish ones eyes sit higher up (vertically) than the gray endli dabola. The faranah endlis head is also somewhat flat, but rounds off towards the from abd makes for a larger lower lip. It's eyes also sit higher up vertically.

(Not the best pics but I think they get the job done)

It goes endli Dabola, endli Dabola, faranah endli

What about patterns, cause someone stated before tha endli dabola has a broken pattern vs faranah endli has more of a solid patterns.

Thx dr b

So two dabola have diff base color and mine is on the chocolate/brown side

I dont know my faranah stripes seem broken.

Ur a jynx !! The faranah just bit one of the cb endlis lol

Attached are some photos of my old 18" female Faranah endli. The heads remain he flattest out all the variants as they mature. As far as I've seen, the majority are on the lighter side for base color. Markings will resemble or close as shown. Of course, variations will present itself and odd ball markings may occur, or posses a darker base tones. It's going to happen. Look at your brother, sister, and cousins... lol :). I included what I feel distinguishes the characteristics of a classic Faranah endli. Attached a video from youtube of a Faranah Endli to aid.

I was looking at the coloration of my endli and seeing that at times it would display toward grey, then at times a darker brown especially after I added the black sand and it even was a light tan almost a pinkish hue to it. So color will vary depending on the fish and its mood and of course substrate.
