Condensation inside heater

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes. I exchanged it.
Then take that one back and get a cash refund or store credit. It is apparent at this point that that line of heaters is total crap.Try another brand.

Could it have just been inside the heater already?
Not outside of the realm of possibility but I would hope that you would have noticed that after you removed the heater from it's package.

.....and if so,any kind of moisture has no business inside the unit at any point.

I'd try another brand like marineland or something. If you got two heaters like that then their lineup has something wrong with it. You should be able to get store credit if they can't get you cash.

I didn't realize the Aqueon Pro's had a Lifetime Warranty. I guess I should have got a replacement a couple of years ago when one of their 300 watt heaters got stuck on and boiled an entire tank of Paracyprichromis nigripinnis (breeding colony) and numerous fancy plecos.

That's good to know, I may switch to Aqueon Pro; if that's the case

What should I do? I have to treat these fish for ich. I am getting salt tomorrow. I am just kind of frustrated because I just exchanged the heater and now it has condensation inside.

Bring the heater to the store and ask for a refund, if they can't get you a refund ask for store credit. Then pick up a different brand. I've had a marineland heater in my Arowana tank for quite a while now and I haven't had any problems with it.

I am treating them for ich. The heater is working right now. This is just so frustrating having a second heater leak. Could it cause a problem?
