For me! Saltwater tank maintain is more easier than freshwater, I'm tired doing weekly water change on freshwater tank.
Equipments for both fresh and salt water are same accept saltwater had Protein Skimmer.
I don't have to do water change on my saltwater (dosing daily vodka to get rid of nitrate) and just top off water that loss from varporation, dosing liquid minerals weekly...That's all i have to do for my saltwater tank

It's all depend on the tank size and level of nitrate of current live stock produce.
Follow the link for a full description how to dose vodka in reef aquarium, it will take sometime to get it work but after its kick in you will have a nitrate FREE system for life until you stop dosing vodka.

Oh dear. We all go through a learning phase, you are just doing it with monster fish instead of bettas or guppies
