I need to make space for a 70+ litre tank to breed bristlenose plecos, my teacher made a bit of money out of those, they are quite pricey here
I was only thinking about Dwarf CPOs because they only get about 2", and at that size they shouldn't be able to bother any fish.
The only reason I would want to keep the babies is to sell them, which I have no plans on doing. Should I just start out with ghost shrimp instead of cherries since they're cheap?if you really want some inverts, i would maybe consider trying small Cherry Red Shrimp first... See if your puffers ignore them or not???
Coz if they do, then no reason why you cant get a few more and have them breed, only problem is the otos and puffers will pick off some if not all the babies...

The only places that sell ghost shrimp near me are Petsmart and Petco. Now that I think about it, I would have to treat the shrimp so in case they get eaten my fish won't get a disease. My lfs sells good quality Amano shrimp that won't be infected, and hopefully for no more than $2 a piece. If they're more then I'll get cherries for $5 a piece.Maybe Ammano shrimp would be better (since they eat algae)...
But ghost shrimp would also work just as well...
I was also looking at getting a single vampire shrimp. The puffers won't mess with something as large as that.I wont lie, a few years back when i still had a few dwarfs they lived happily with a few cherries till one day, one died and they decided to take a bite, and realize small shrimp = food... Then it was game over...
Ammano sized shrimp never had a problem with dwarfs mainly due to their size, so werent looked at by the puffers as a meal...
