Florida gar won't eat

I recently just bought a juvenile Florida gar, and im having trouble getting it to eat, it's been in a tank by itself for a week now and won't touch the prawns what I'm Trying to feed it, would to here any suggestions off people with experience with gars?

Probably new tank syndrome. Still getting used to the tank if it's been a week.

Give it time. Try alternating other foods. Live crickets, carnisticks, etc.

I was thinking maybe live foods, but I read somewhere that it can be hard to get them to take anything else once they get used to live food?

Still think ur fish is still getting used to the tank.

I think once it settles in it shouldn't be too bad to get on prepared foods.

I didn't see one of my little gars eat for at least 2 weeks before I finally saw him take a piece of tilapia one night. I wouldn't worry at all

I ended up taking the gar back to my LFS I was starting to think there was something wrong with it, So now I've got a wolf fish instead

Wolf fish may do the same thing it's common for them as well

Just make sure u research before getting a fish.

Ok I'll see how it goes, either way I'm keeping this wolf fish it's a Beauty lol
