Stocking

Think the severum would be a good match. As for the ebjd, I started with 2 as well and had the same issue. Came to the conclusion that one was male and the other female. Given more space (and hiding spots), they will hopefully get along.
As for Denison barbs, they are Asian river fish and do prefer a little colder water but I find that as long as you don't keep your tank "hot" they do fine.

Red severums are line bred where as sp. rotkeil are a natural occurrence. Personally I think rotkeil are far better looking but to get the real deal you'll have to probably order from a good source.

Any suggestions on where to find good ones of either type?

Tangled up in cichlids, or cichlids of the Americas often come highly recommended.

Found a LFS that says they have some 3-6 inch gold red spotted Severums. I'm gonna go tonight after work and a check them out. If they look good, I may just get one of those so I don't have to deal with shipping them.
Also, for dither fish? I was kinda wanting to keep everything to the Americas. I know my current danios are not American, but I had them before the others and they are very slowly getting eaten (at night I think, never seen it happen. So I'm not sure who is doing this).
Would buenos aires tetra be worth a shot, or will they be too small and or fin nip the Angel? Any other suggestions for dither fish from the Americas? I wanting to get everything at the same time, so that I can have everybody through with quarantine and new and old all in the new set up all at the same time.

They don't need to be red either. Any color fine.

Or silver dollars? If a good choice, how many? I don't want to be over stocked once everyone is full grown.
This will be the set up:
125 gallon
2 EBJD
1 angel
1 severum
3 Pictus cats

Best dithers? And how many?

Beuno Aires aren't too small but they are notorious fin nippers.
