i also want to disagree. But I'm at a loss for words as to what else it could have been. I know some breeders have super high nitrates I remember there was a thread about it back in the day

Something changed that affected them. Anything at all you can think of? This also happens to people with low nitrates so don't think it was the nitrates. Maybe if you had insane Nitrate numbers but 80 is just like missing a water change one week, no big deal
 
I heard somewhere higher nitrates can allow problematic bacteria to establish themselves quicker, it may also be linked to immune suppression and is part of stunting also. I try and keep nitrate as low as possible
 
Hey bro, I bought a Seneye home it's not the most amazing thing but at least I know when I have any ammonia and ph variations also I have had heaters fail worth every cent I swear. Check it out I hope you never lose another Ray it's so depressing. J.
