Hey guys, so in December i want to convert my 70gallon from tropical to a goldfish tank and i have a few questions:

1- i have an AC 110 filter right now. I am considering buying a piston airpump and adding 2 sponge filters, is this a good idea?

2- i want to get an oranda and a ranchu (veiltailed ones). Should i stick to these 2? If not any recommendations?

3- best diet? I am thinking Hikari goldfish specific pellets daily with veggies 3 times a week and bloodworm twice a week. Any comments on this?

4-would 2 50% WC a week give me good growth and colour?

5- easy ways to clean barebottom tanks, i dont want to try and clean it with a siphon (been there done that)

Any other tips or warnings are welcome, thanks

yes to all of the above.

point a powerhead at the bottom of the tank, hang the HOB on the opposite side of tank, waste gets sucked up by HOB after powerhead blows it off the bottom.

Would the current not disturb the goldfish? Or is the powerhead not required to be super strong?

I honestly don't know, I'm assuming the fish would be fine. you'll need a decent water movement to get anything off the bottom.

in a 4 foot barebottom tank you can get away with a smaller powerhead for sure. I think I have 150gph and it would work well in a barebottom.
