Today in the Fishroom ~ Trichromis salvini

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mo-do you have pics of his mate? Do you know where these were collected?

I got them from Rusty Wessel several years ago. They are F1...and I believe they came from Nacajuka lagoon, Grijalva drainage in Mexico. As I said....I have two in a 100 gallon tank. Not the best set up for some fish. This male killed six other fish. He's been in the undivided tank now for at least seven years. The female is even more skittish...and a lot less colorful.

Thanks. I noticed there is a good deal a variation in t. Salvini. But all look really nice. They are definitely one of my favorite cichlids.
I've never had shy or really aggressive ones as many people have. My female now is about 4" and begs for food like an Oscar. She also is very peaceful and will only defend herself.

I remember when you had a huge sal in your pond back when you had your forum up and running. We could never see any real good pics in the pond, just saw his general size next to pots, etc.. This isn't the same sal is it?
