Clown Loach dorsal fin ripped off

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So it's 24 hrs later and he is still alive but not looking great, is body is a bit bent out of shape. He is breathing pretty heavy, not sure if he will last much longer

nah
I improved the divider and my 2 remaining CL are now safely living in one end of the tank untill they put on a bit more size

Idk, a cichlid that could rip off a fin in one shot like that is not something I would want swimming with my loaches. The fact that loaches grow like half an inch a year is testament that a good size loach is much harder to come by than cichlid zilla that reached 12 inches in just 1 year. I do have a baby flowerhorn right now, but he is getting bullied by a German ram and some kribensis cichlids. He really hasn't shown any sign of taking over. The moment I see damage, he gets to live in the dark sump for a while. No way I will risk my ornate bichir to the whims of a silly cichlid.

Agreed!

The fish that was doing the damage is getting picked up this afternoon so my loaches can live happily
