Must be an opinion thing, a lot of owners will attest to marines being very intelligent more so than fresh; it'd be interesting to see the two compared though.
I've read the same thing, but even if that is true, they still either don't know/care about their owner.

One thing is for sure, I will always have a freshwater tank in some form or other; whether marine works or not. I just love the planted side too much, shrimps and Betta's lol

That's my thing. The plants and driftwood is awesome expect I just can't ever be happy with it. I get it the way I like it and that last for about a month then I find myself looking a new driftwood and plants..

Maybe I can... The seller on cl dropped the price to $350. The tank itself is $300 and it has a kessil on it. I just have to convince my Dad to do both. He doesn't get mad about tank costs, just the water changes, so keeping both of them on the nano side may be helpful in my arguement.

I would love a small marine tank, but my funding is very low. I might dabble with it one day

I've read you don't need skimmers etc for nano saltwater aquariums, pretty much just strong flow (powerhead), heater; then live rock and sand, all else is controlled via water changes...
