Attempting to grow a large specimen Beani

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was monitoring them closely, but I never actually see the beating. The spawning was going well. Later when I went to check on them all the spawn had gone. The female had retreated through the divider. I do like the hole in the divider method. Probably saved her life.
Some very poor quickly pics just so you can see.

yes it is a good method. the fact that you got them to spawn at all is good. I'm sure they will get it. Did u c the male eat the eggs? because i think it could have been the female, that being the reason the male turned

It could possibly have been the female, but I would put money on it being the male. I've had this before with one of my other pair of Beani. Truth is I will never 100% known

Still no fry as of yet.
I have chosen my favourite male to attempt to grow into a monster wet pet. This male is actually my smallest but he has the biggest personality and IMO the best colours. I've moved him up from my little fish house and he's now in the house where I can keep a closer eye on him. I took the opportunity to weigh and measure him. I will try to get some in tank pics when he's settled.

Thanks for keeping this thread updated.
Beani have always been number one on my wish list. I've never seen them locally though.

Looking forward to the in tank pics Andy.
