Help with pvc and bulkheads

The standhead pipes are about 6" below the teeth. Ok I'm confused. Do you think my setup isn't running properly?

Sorry for possible confusion. Based on your comments it seemed the 1" drain was not keeping up with the rate you want, hence wanting 2" pipes? Was this a correct assumption?

What size pvc should I use for my bulk heads? 1" pvc for 1" drain and 1 3/4" pvc for my 1 3/4" drain? Also measurements are of the inside thread not the entire bulkhead.

So one 1.5" and one 1" drain? Will you use both for drains, and separate for returns? Based on how you set-up, I would also consider adding strainers to help prevent big items blocking.

True union, ball valves. What happens if you open up the valve to allow greater flow? As I've sometimes mention, i find overflow box is the bottleneck and not the drains.

Some folks have 2" drains but end up closing off so having larger diameter isn't helping much. Hence my questions on the valve.

The valves are open all the way. And my return pump
Is on max setting.
