Bought a breeding pair of parachromis la ceiba from one of the main guys everyone buys from. The female ended up showing signs of Lymph within a week of it arriving. He also tried to cut the lymph off prior to shipping (I have strong belief in this accusation) and this is where the lymph started to grow back.

After trying to treat with salt for 4 weeks and polyguard for nearly a week with no changes i decided i had nothing to loose and remove it myself.

I included pics of the tail i cut off with all the tumor (cauliflower) lymph growths below.

The fish is now in qt which will allow me to closely monitor her and swab the area to keep it clean along with water changes continue the polyguard and melafix.

Im not making this to cry about the $237 i spent on diseased fish because the female was replaced with a much smaller 4" fish which is not what i paid for... or the fact i now have a 150 gallon contaminated with the lymph virus im in the process of taking down to start over.

Im making this post to let everyone know QUARANTINE YOUR NEW FISH!!! prior to putting them in a large permanent home no matter who your buying from. I made the mistake of just dropping them right in thinking i was ok because i bought from one of the big guys.

Very disapointed...but i did learn 2 very valuable lessons from this experience. Always quarantine and never buy from this vendor again.

Not going to publicly bash this vendor as he did replace the female (with a much smaller one) but if you must know who it was pm me.

Is this the cut off lymph?

Yes sir, with a good portion of the tail. There was a real large clump by the anal fin i scraped off and it wasnt really anything to take a pic of after as it was quite disgusting. If you look close you will see it looks as if your looking at a head of cauliflower. I took the best pics i could with a camera phone haha.

First time i ever had to cut anything off one of my fish and hopefully the last.

Yea, I bought some real sharp scissors from a medical supply store down the road. They were only $12 so I figured why not.

Well you did a good job. Hopefully that helps her get rid of it.

Yea, i might give it a shot. I have the polyguard and melafix in there now. I dont want to make it a toxic pool with too many meds. Whats unfortunate is if it so happen to clear It will still be in the fish and they could re appear and the whole process starts again. From what i read online, if you keep the fish damage free and happy it might not pop back up unless stressed. We will see what happens in a week or so.
