If u had to go into a battle pit and only could get 1 weapon what would it be? U will not know what's in the pit beforehand, it could be flooded and filled with saltwater crocs,polar bears,vital raptors,lions,ancient romans,ninjas etc.

i'm was assuming melee weapons only, my choice is a Kwan Dao, if firearms are included, either a Desert Eagle .50 or Smith and Wesson's The Governor. They will stop a Grizzly, Polar bear, Crocodile, etc
