i thought a refugium was just like a sump but it houses algaes and stuff like that??

What qualifies as "reef"? Having live rock and live sand or totally different????

A Refugium is used to provide a safe haven for pods to grow.

A reef is a tank with live rock, live sand, fish, and corals.

oh AND corals, huh?

Pods as in like coral polyps or just random marine life that resides in the water column or what? my friend has Kenya trees and anemones and a buncha other stuff but his refugium looks like it's got mushroom-shaped thingys and purple velvet-looking algaes and all types of weird stuff

stupid slang terms....if you ONLY knew how my Mentor trained me LOL i knew hundreds, possibly thousands of Latin/Greek names and heavily studied taxonomy before i was even 15 years old. This new age slang stuff feels like SACRELIGE to me LOLOLOL

Is rather not type in scientific names because I'm ass at spelling and all of the sudden we're no longer talking about the same fish.
