WC a few hours after introducing a new fish?

will this be okay? I recently got a ghost knife fish. i have acclimated him/her. but will it be okay to do a 30% WC within the day? or should way a few more days?

Keep this in mind for future that you can do water change first then acclimate your new fish, I would suggest do drip acclimating method for few hours, this way you can do water change and let new fish adjust to new water parameters as well.

I always do a waterchange between 70-80 % the day before if I plan to buy fish but these days I do it even if I just plan to go to my LFS because hubby have a tendency to buy fish :eye roll: if we go.

If you really need to I would do a gallon water change ever two hours or so. I know it isn't perfect but after a day or so it would make a huge difference especially if a wc is really needed. And don't forget the water conditioner if you use tap water.

That's why I don't go to LFS on weekdays :P and most of us doing water change on weekend so it's perfect to go shop around first then go home and do water change :P

True but I usually do a water change either on Thursdays since It's my day off on Thursdays or I do WC on a Friday evening when hubby is usually kind enough to supply me with somekind of adult beverage while doing a water change.
