I was away for 2 week vacation and returned home finding a pair of Cryptoheros nanoluteus fiercely guarding a batch of fry. They showed no fear of fighting off much bigger tankmates, sort like David against Goliath. It's amazing that a tank full of hungry fish that have not been fed for 2 weeks show no attempt to prey on the fry. The nanoluteus fry do not seek to hide in the rock but swim out in the open and the parents just follow the swarm. The tankmates get the message and stay away from fierce parents and swarm. I know eventually the parents will abandon the fry and hope a few fry can make it.
