So we are going through day 3 of Queen B and her giant need to fart with NO success. All she can do is float at the top of the tank. Yes she is still alive because anytime I go near the tank she freaks out and tries to swim to the bottom. I did the Epsom salt thing with no luck yet.. Any other suggestions?

From what ive read, offer catfish fillet.

Back End float
If your bichir has a hard time keeping it butt down its most likely trapped gas yes it need to fart once this occurs it should be fine

Prevention
You can do a mild flush on the polys system by offering it some cut catfish fillet. There's a slight amount of oil in catfish flesh that I've found beneficial in keeping the plumbing clean in my bottom fish. I offer it to all my polys once a week as a preventative. Adding greens to their diet will also be a big help. I accomplish this by offering gut-loaded minnows, shrimp, and crayfish.

what type of greens can be added?

tlindsey tlindsey told me green peas, boil it first to take out the shell so it will sink, some will take it some wont, what i do is when i cut a tilapia i cut a little bit in the middle and stuff a peas in the middle so when the bichir eats it they wont notice the green peas. But ill try the catfish fillet and see if its easier.

There's still time for the salt to work. Can go up to 2tbs per 5 gallon. If it goes past another couple of days (7-10days still not uncommon) then try the peas.

Get the Senegal whisperer on board, tlindsey tlindsey .

In these situations food will worsen things. Just IMO.
