Got my Kelberi tonight

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nemo's lol John hooked me up for a trade-in. They are giving away their 3' Blacktip reef shark for free to a good home. You want it?

They want to turn the 5,000 cylinder tank into large cichlids. A collection of all our ideas and everyone liked it, but I been pushing them towards large aggressive CA/SA cichlids. The owner and John want to do Boulengerochromis microlepis for a tank boss, but I said Dovii and other Parachromis w/ some Amphilophus.....but wth, it's 5,000 gallons, we can mix it up. I vote Buttekofferi too :D
That's going to be an awesome cichlid display.I say throw an Emperor cichlid in there.

There is also a lot of doubt whether Kelberi and Intermedia deserve their own taxonomy also, so it could all just be mumbo jumbo for all we know. Some still consider Kelberi part of Occelaris. As far as intermedia IDK much about them, but the latin/greek translates (unless i'm a bit rusty) to "in between" ......more-or-less, or a "in-the-middle", so the name could MEAN what it is - something not fully accepted in one genus or the other - but in between two of them.....a possible intergrade w/ no distinct genetic barriers isolating it from similar subspecies/locales/variants. I have a feeling they named it "Intermedia" for a reason though.

Unless i'm 200% incorrect....

Thoughts? (from MFK collectively)
Kelberi used to be a part of monos not ocell I believe, because before they were named they were being called super-monos. As far as intermedia, your guess is as good as mine.
