Breeding electric blue acara

Hi all was just after some advise on breeding electric blue acara as i have a breeding pair please how long until i remove the eggs and how often do i feed them

i thought acara look after there own kids, and pritty much everything is done by the parentes except feeding after third day of hatching which simple fry food like brine shrimp and new life spectrum fry provides. dont qoute me on it but thats what i thought

You can move the fry as soon as they become free swimming.
You need to feed them twice a day at least.
Just till their full dont over feed. Keep the water clean with regular water changes and they will grow quickly.
I understand wanting to move some just to improve your chance of have some make it.
I always leave a few fry for the parents to try to raise. You may get good parents, and with the next spawn just let them do the work.

Like stated it would be better to leave the eggs in with the parents and when the fry become free swimming then you could siphon a few out to raise yourself.

Hi they are in a community tank and ive not had much success with leaving them in there they just get eaten. Have to breeding angles in the same tank and never seen any of there babys because they eat the eggs i was not trying to breed fish i was just lucky lol. Would be nice to see the acara eggs grow

Most place them in a separate aquarium with a seeded sponge filter.

I'm going to try a Marina breeding box next time my fish lay eggs.

You could do this. But then eventually you will have to move them again ,probably pretty quickly. So to me its just another chance to stress them or something going wrong. If you can I would go ahead and move them to the rearing tank to start with.
