Move back to Florida? Yes? No? Maybe?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Get a job out there close to an airport. Live cheap, buy expensive fish and have them shipped. Live on ramen and share photos with us of asian aro and Thai black diamonds.
where in florida or Transnistria? cause there in not airports in Transnistria))

Hey bro! That's a hard call. I want to go back for good to Motherland but can't at the moment. If you ever move back to FL, it'd be nice to meet you one day.

I met people in your profession. They make a very, very good living in the US. Is there no need for your profession back where you are?

Aren't you too young to retire? :)

Yes, I am too young to retire, but I have invested all my pharmacy money into rentals))). so i make about 3k without working. It's a lot of money in Ukraine or Transnistria, but in Florida, not much)). Pharmacists make a lot money, but it's a very stressful job. I had a minor stress breakdown. So I really dread going back to work.

I do miss Florida nature a lot. I am thinking about staying here till April and than flying to Hollywood FL for a trial run ( i will keep my appartment in Tiraspol). My ex still lives there, so I can stay with her and see if I can get a job. I sure as hell not going to work in Publix or CVS

I grew up in Cincinnati ))) than went to Ukraine for a few years. After Obama overthrew the government there (i am not kidding) I moved to Florida. I liked it, but I had hard time finding a job (i am a hospital pharmacist). I only found a night shift job which burned me out and gave me a small nervouse breakdown))). So I picked my stuff and moved to Transnistria (you probably never heard of it).

Overall I liked South Florida (I was in Hollywood). But the horrible rent and lack of jobs really is a bummer
Oh ok I went to the University of Cincinnati. I know what you mean about the job situation in Florida. Luckily for me my wife and I both will be transferring and won't have to look for new jobs. As far as rent it's just like anywhere else imo, you have expensive neighborhoods and less expensive neighborhoods you just have to research and find a happy medium. I've lived on Clearwater Beach, which was expensive, Palma Ceia, which was expensive and Brandon, which wasn't too bad imo. Maybe find a job first and then look at rent in different locations to see the difference in price.

I went to UC as well from 1996 to 2004. I could not find anything decent in South Florida for under $900. I had a rundown two bedroom for 950 last time (it was a steal). It is sure as hell not Ohio where you can live a like a king on $500)))

$3K a months is ok, IMHO, in FL for a single person without great medical needs. Not a luxury living but ok. Anywhere in the former USSR, that's a luxurious living for sure, except maybe Moscow and St. Petersburg, maybe Kiev too - but it's quite fine for those cities as well.

There is a ton of building going on in FL in anticipation of baby boomers retiring. I think the job market will be very good here. Right now it's mostly in construction but soon all kinds of professions will be needed, first and foremost medical. If your particular job's too stressful, you could consider looking for a related job, etc. if you have to.

Albeit, I vote you stay there where you are... (you asked...)

Kiev is still fairly cheap, but Ukraine is going to be black hole on map soon. so I don't know. I was in the middle of all that crazy stuff 2 years ago there. Yes, I can live ok on 3k in FL, but what about aquariums and fish? I need money for that))) I am going to play it by ear. maybe I do need more time off work to calm down. Might just fly to FL to hang out with ex and see how things are (without serious job search)

One doesn't need much for tanks / pond and fish in FL if you are inventive and focused, plus $36K a year allows for a hobby, plus you can make some $$ on a side or what not...

Your write interesting and unusual reports. You could freelance. Your photo-reports are interesting to me too.

What do you consider home? US or Ukraine?
