Evolution of a bad idea...pic heavy

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just figured I'd post an update this morning as I made some changes yesterday. Had a hobbyist pick up a couple fish and exchanged some at the lfs. Also the Red devil has taken dominance of the tank from the FH, causing the FH's kok to shrink a little...Here is the current and close to final stock list...

I will be thinning down to 1 male festae and selling off the other three at some point. Also unsure of the sex of the chancho. If it turns out female and starts breeding it will likely get removed as well. However, no planned additions or subtractions other than those planned for the life of this tank.

A few things:
1.) I want your Festae
2.) I want your Festae
3.) I want your Festae (just in case it hasn't been mentioned)
4.) Pretty sure you got at least one pair in that group
5.) Is that catfish in the Shovelnose family?
6.) Everything looks super-healthy, great job

Frank Castle Frank Castle , once I'm sure what male festae I'm keeping I'll be selling the other 3 at a very fair price. I'll give you first dibs...lol Not sure about the catfish, just know it's supposed to grow somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-24", so I figured it would be OK long-term in the tank. The cichlids seems to ignore it aside from a time or two when it beat them to some pellets. Thanks hoping to get some beasts, the Rd is the oldest and still under a year so guessing he's got a lot of growth left.

It is a pain. I have to drain the tank some to make it more feasible. My daughter actually named him "lump fish" they all have great names thanks to my 4 year old. The newest one is "star star"...lol

Unfortunately I had a mishap and a few of the fish jumped awhile back while I was away for an extended weekend. Not too long ago I gave away the lot to a couple other fish keepers. Bought a bunch of umbee fry and I'm going for either a pair or a single male with a few dithers...
