I think if I ordered a jack and got an edjd my reaction would be a very loud and swift, "SWEET!"

yeah, you realize an ebjd is literally like 10x more expensive than a regular jack dempsey
The price of the fish is irrelevant, he ordered a specific fish and didn't get what he ordered....me personally I would rather have a "regular" jack Dempsey...
just about any LFS would gladly trade you an EBJD for a regular Jack any day.
That's true about the value of the fish that he received but the more valuable species is what he seems to be stuck with due to the vendor's unwillingness to make things right so he might as well make the most of what he has.

Petco has regular Jack Dempseys for $2.99-$3.99. bought 7 of them from Petco. Good fat and healthy
i understand about getting what you ordered..Its a weird situation where the vendor actually "hooked you up " value wise , but did not give you what u ordered ..I would give the electric blue a chance , you might end up really liking that fish ...I would hit the vendor up and let them know they sent me the wrong fish but you are the one who came out on top of that deal bud...are all the other fish you ordered the correct ones ?
