Hello Friends

6 months ago I have obtained my flowerhorn. At the first photo, you may see the first day of the fish when I have gotten it. Yesterday I have taken the other photos of him. How is the growth of my fish in 6 months period. Please interpret the growing phase.

Beside this; what is the subtype of this flowerhorn? My other question is about KOK growth. Does the water temperature has serious effect for KOK large ?

Please inform me about these questions.

Best wishes

Yes temp has an effect on the over all health of a Flowerhorn, a healthy flowerhorn will display better color and kok then one that is stressed. I keep my tanks at 83.7 F. However, a flowerhorns kok size is all genetics. The main two types of kok are called hard kok and water kok. Your guy looks to be a hard kok which are usually solid to the touch and remain small. The water kok is a head that feels squishy and can grow very large. His growth is great for a 6 month period. He looks very healthy.

Kamalau needs more patience. Once it hits maturity, approx 1 year old, it will look awesome.
