Update on Crenicichla Johanna Red Face

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
for my 180 gallon tank 6x 2x 2 feet I have a piece of acrylic that's about 24" x 12" and covers 1 of the 2 tank openings at the top. I catch all the fish I need during water change. I take enough water out that the water level is below 12". Than I try to get the fish I want to catch to 1 end of the tank and slide the piece of acrylic into the tank. Now the fish only has a foot to swim instead of 6 feet and I can catch it very easily.

Great tip!

Hey man, I'm in love with the aquascape on this tank! Damn near perfect in my opinion, these fish are lucky to live there! And your pikes are beautiful, they remind me of my Johanna. How big are yours? Mine was a female and got to about 14" before I had to sell her.
Here's mine at 14 for comparison

Thank you. Mine are about 10-11 inches. Man yours is gorgeous! I'm not sure mine will get as colorful. I would kill for one like yours. What collection location is yours from?!

I got her from a friend of mine, unfortunately not sure of the collection point. She was a beauty though, loved that fish

Rob, beautiful setup as always. Don't know who enjoys it more, myself or your fish.

Isn't that the way it always is? You get an exceptionally gorgeous fish, wind up rehoming. then on occasion want another and just can't seem to find one or know enough about them to come across them again. Looks like Rob and I will have something to ask Jeff Rapps about.
