Anyone who have tried to mix these? The Pleuro is 14'' and the Lucius is 10". The tank I am thinking of putting them in, is 27" high, 24" deep and 138" long. I am under the impression that it will be ok as long as they get enough food.

Hello

I think mixing snakeheads isnt a good idea... Many times it works for 1 month or so, but then they will fight to death

I wouldn't do it.
Aren't Lucius Sub-tropical too?

Both tropical but I think the first response is spot on . If it's a new tank to both you might get a few weeks while they settle in . Once they do it becomes territorial and will be a death match.

I had them together in a 125 gallon and I didn't have any problems with aggression...
The pleuro stuck to the middle/upper levels of the tank and the lucius usually at the bottom.
But fish are weird... so be prepared to separate them

Yeah. It's exactly what you write, that makes me think that this will work out. The pleuro is very untypical for a snakehead. He likes to rush around in the mid and upper levels of the vater. The other one is constantly at the bottom. Only moving up for air and food. They will probably only cross paths when fed. I also have very good experiences with keeping the pleuro with other, very much smaller fish.
I think, I'll give it a shot.

Another case of waiting for the answer you want and disregarding every other. :/

Channas (And pleuros aren't any different) have a hard time with tank mates, but what they really hate are other sneakheads. You may have seen setups with pleuros in comms, and those happen to work from time to time, but there are very very few cases of different species of sneakheads living togther, no matter the size of the tank.

Another case of a besserwisser with a opinion. If you had red the question, you would have known that I was asking for advice from someone who actually had experiences with this mix. The fact that snakeheads has reputation of being territorial and agressive is something I have known for 30 years. I did not ask about that.
Even Pascal, the God of snakeheadkeepers has tried this mix with luck. You can read about it here: https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/snakeheads-keeping-conditions.124841/page-3
...but your opinions probably more right than his experience

Let's not talk about reading comprehension, or you would have seen the part where I wrote "very very few cases". This, in English, implies it has worked, very few times but it has.

So instead of trying to start an argument on forums that seek to share, help and enlighten people of the same community, perhaps you may want to ask the "God of sneakeadkeepers" instead of people with insight based on trial and error, experience, and who have seen more than a single person could based solely on numbers.

Sure, the guy may have made it work, but it does in no way mean or prove that it is a viable combo, nor that it isn't the single success out of thousands of failures.

You work as a politician, don't you?

I still waiting for those who tried the mix, and enden up with disaster. But they haven't posten yet, have they?

...and read your own post again. It's you that want to pick a fight, with your porley disguised sarcasm.
