Its gonna break his heart but its a learning expirence about how life works, and to teach him how to love and care for any living thing in the world before its gone. One of the reason why i bought my sons his first fish so he can learn.

You're going to love sharing this hobby with your son my son is so into animals and has a huge respect for them and I'd like to think it was a result of the lessons he learned because of this Hobby when he was younger he would get mad that we had to rehome a fish because of aggression but after a while he understood how unfair it was 2 the fish I used to give him a choice of who had to go and let him decide I love this video he was about 3 years old at the time and this kid was literally going to Petland and tell the workers in there what they were doing wrong with fish and how they shouldn't be in such small tanks he would even tell them the names of fish that they couldn't pronounce
That is so cool how a child of his age can already recognize those fish. A little ichthyologist in the making.

So i broke the news to him it went better than i thought... i actually had to stop myself from laughing.
I told something happened to the one of fish, he puts his toy gun down, lays his hands acroos the table, looks me dead in the eye all serious and say "is it nigel" (ornate) i said no amd told him it was spike, he says " man he was way too fat dad"
He was sad but said he didnt want to bury him because it would make him more sad

RIP man... I'm dreading the day I lose one. I have lost two really small ones, a del and a albino sen but i hadn't had them long enough to develop a relationship. LFS gave me refunds after checking my water parameters too.
