So as it turns out, he is actually a she. I woke up this morning to find around 1000+ eggs attached to a large rock in the aquarium. I was 95% sure I had a male, but I guess I was wrong. I'm actually quite happy it's a female! Here's a picture of her this morning defending the eggs (they can be seen in the background).
Lol. Yea, it's certainly a remote possibility. However, I kind of like having a solo female Amph. She's got a great personality, but isn't nearly as aggressive/psycho as Griswold (or any other male Amphs I kept). In addition, I'm not sure Grissy would allow her in his domain without attacking her. I don't have the time/energy to mess with dividers and breeding techniques just so they can produce fry. Either way, it was a pleasant surprise!
She is gorgeous! Always loved the devils/midas. Could you send a pic of the full tank? I'm curious how big she looks in her temp tank/

@manu8_too I think you would be quite surprised with how he reacts lol! Amphs can be on the easier side to breed. Also Griswald had such great genes!
