You see these threads pop up every mow end them about x poly ate x poly. Its not really about aggression when they are eating eachother i was amazed that i was able to keep a 5 inch sen with a 16 or 17 inch endli but the thought was always in the back of my head that it could end up as a snack

Zilch Zilch , glad to hear that your lungfish is compatible with the polys. :) I've been interested in them since seeing "Grandad," the 108 year old Austrailian Lungfish at Shedd Aquarium. Although they are different than the African, I just heard that some of the lungfish were nasty to other fish and should be kept in a species only tank. and by that I mean by themselves with no other lungfish haha. Although, I guess it depends on the fish. Would love to see some more pics of him/her cuddling with the polys!

This video made me tear up

Any of the African Lungfish varieties = The devil. They can be cool for years and then just up and decide to shred tankmates, regardless of size
South American Lung = Super chill fish, they get pretty huge, but they're generally really placid, you very rarely hear about people having problems with these guys

Grandad is awesome, I had to visit the last time I was in Chicago almost exclusively to see him haha. AULs are awesome fish, just super rare and super super expensive, I'd love to get one, but it would outlive me by a pretty large margin at this point ;)

thanks for the distinction! Will check out the South American Lungs! Yeah Grandad is the best. My favorite part of the aquarium. Yeah he might outlive you by a little lol.

vincentwugwg vincentwugwg had an AUL but I think he gave it away or sold it due to it getting bullied in his tanks

Pretty cool stuff. I would love the gilled African lungfish, max size around 30-45cm but never exported :(
