Totally, save the money for fish towards a 125. Thats what I recommend.

My Pleco creates 90% of the waste in my 210 gallon tank. It's stocked with over 15 fish, with most being cichlids.
Hello; Looks like we have fairly uniform set of opinions. I tend to think these folks are on the correct side of your question.
If you want to add anything to make the tank look more alive, I would add fast growing plants such as hornwort, jungle vallisneria, and anacharis if I were you. They will absorb some of the nitrates and they don't require super fancy lighting either. Anubias would also be a great choice since most fish won't eat the leaves. Java ferns are good too but if my big convict is anything to go by the oscar will wreck them.
You should also try pothos vines as well, you can get them super cheap at hardware stores or nurseries.

When I was growing out my Oscar in my 55 the only thing I had in with him was a tall plastic plant. He would always tear it out and uproot it. Each water change I would "replant" it but within hours he had it floating again lol.
you guys are all crazy, she should put another 100 Oscars in that tank - at least 2 per gallon. Where do YOU GUYS get your fishkeeping information from ????!!!!
