New to Polypterus - Substrate Advice!

Thanks! did you get a bunch of pink chalceus? Was considering them for one of my tanks, how do you like them?
I like them alot, i had six but one became meal to the bichir. Sometimes they fight but most times they pretty chill. They dont swim alot, they mostly stay in one spot and they dont school, but their is one species similar to pink tail that like to school, ask

Just picked up my new Mokelembembe and Buettikoferi.
The Moke is the chubbiest I've ever seen haha, about 8"
And the Gold Dust is about 7" but is really shy so far so this is the best pic I could get

, I just replaced my substrate today with 20lbs black and 20lbs white sand. So 40lbs in my 55 looks good to me.I have about an inch sand bed. in a 12x 4 footprint. If your tank is twice that size, You might be able to get away with 80lb minimum. But I would say 100 to be safe. 
Yeah that's about what I have in the tank now (it's currently housing my catfish) but I just wasn't sure if the floramax has a different density, it looks completely different. I orderd 80lbs from amazon and it should be here tomorrow, so we'll see!
