Dominance - Bluy eye and Luteus...

As states in a post below, the blue eyed Plecos that I have had and seen seem to be very dominant fish. My blue eye asserts dominance over a jardini and L600 as well.
As a previous poster wrote, the blue eye shakes when trying to get his point across. He then spears the other fish with his spines.
I tried to get a picture of it but was unsuccessful.

My Luteus is also a very dominant fish but it is the only one that I have watched interact.

Here's my Luteus and blue eye partaking in that struggle.

True but the Luteus is no shrinking violet, is quite large, and is a tough sob in his own Right.

They have been together for awhile and this interaction occurs every so often until king is once again declared and peace again prevails, lol.

I should have a luteus sometime this year. You are lucky I still think my blue is the boss of the tank, even though the other guy is much bigger he darts away when blue gets close. Blue even hunts him down when he is on the other side of the tank. Nice plecos, how big are they?

I'd guesstimate that each is 14 + inches. I still think the blue eye is the boss but the Luteus is clearly not afraid and initiates the conflict.

By the way, I like your taste in fish. Where are you out of?

I am in the Seattle area - been in your neck of the woods once for a trauma course in Covington.

There's not many people in this region with a reasonable tast in fish, lol. The aquarium society is more concerned with plants than fish in this area. It's depressing. Saw an old thread on your Mbu which I am considering.

I miss my MBU, miss them all actually. Sucks not having a big tank anymore, still a year or so off before we move so I'm stuck with small 265s and 220s. I want my rays and peas back. But till then I will keep my collection of plecos going so when I do have that big tank, I will have the bottom covered
