Drift wood cats cohab?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I thoroughly envy how much your jaguar catfish leaves his closet. Over years I've kept perhaps 6-7 jaguar catfish, including the current pair, and perhaps never seen them come out of their hiding places, no matter how dim the lighting is or if the feed is in the water. I've never tried to see if they came out at night though.

As it happens and FWIW my four trachies are in with four 1' green wolf fish. Neither one pays any attention to the other.

When their queue comes, I'll post a video of that 240 gal.
I have a video I took awhile ago of the jag feeding in the light, I can try to get a video of it swimming the dark, just don't know how much you'll be able to see lol, it's easier to see in person. I don't know how to post videos though. Maybe I'll let it in the vid too, I don't like sticking my hands in the water, from my understanding the oil secretions from our hands aren't good for fish.

Can't wait to see the post up, always look forward to them

I just checked, I have a video of him eating and another vid of him swimming around both with light on from before.

I thought you were young enough to know all the common ins and outs of the electronic age? :)

Anyhow, one makes up an account on Youtube. Free. Uploads videos there (better and faster already compressed but not necessary). Embeds the Youtube link in here. Voilà!

I've never worried about my natural skin secretions. Neither do I know if they are harmful to fish. Among a thousand of fish I killed in my care, none died from my skin oil but from accidents, tank mates, med overdose, bad water, underfiltering, insufficient oxygen.

I've never read of a report where it killed a fish but I just always been hesitate of putting my hand in the after much because I feel like I read it lol, rather not bother them. With the toothy characins I don't mind keeping my hand out anyway lol.

And what do you mean by embed the link? Just copy and paste or?

click fifth symbol from the right in the reply widow that depicts a piece of movie film and paste there the video url and ok it.

Will try to get around to it. I tried earlier when I had time but it was giving me an issue posting it to YouTube. Will have to update the jag thread soon then lol

Perhaps you used a format that Youtube doesn't accept. I use mp4. If you upload an uncompressed video, it usually takes hours or many hours to upload but the Youtube will not reject the video for it. Reading their requirements and recommendations for videos to be uploaded can help too.

It's from my phone lol don't think I've got much options. I've uploaded from my phone before so not sure why it didn't work.

Well, I don't want to come off pushy or willward. If there is a will, there is a way, they say ;) There are friends and libraries with computers, if the phone is the sticking point :)
