Well, it wasn't very noticeable when I was first setting it up because of the cloudy water (because of the sand I used) but now that I have got the water cleared up nicely I can see that the inside of the front panel is almost completely covered with what looks to be water spots. I have a mag-float and I have been over the entire tank multiple times but it doesn't help at all (granted, on 15mm glass the mag-float doesn't have a ton of strength, but plenty to get anything else that's on the tank off). Is there anything I can do to try to get rid of this while the tank is up and running. I don't think breaking it down to clean it right now is an option.

Thanks for the help!

Is this a new tank? It almost looks like the stick on mfg. label residue.

A new single edge razor blade should work well for removing stuff on the surface of the glass and should be used wet.

Ok, I will try a razor blade.

The tank is actually pretty old. It's an old O'Dell tank, which I think puts it around at least 15 years old. It's in great condition. I'm not sure if it's ever been resealed but the silicone on it looks great.

If it's an O'Dell tank, it's probably much older than that!

It's possible the glass is etched and if so, it may be permanent.

Not a huge fan of mag-floats, if you want a great algae scrapper look at the flipper

I don't think the flipper will help in this case. In fact I've had some tough green algae stains that the blade didnt do a thing for. I have the version made for .5". I ended up using a handheld with a blade for more control. I think it would help a little with water stains.

But i do like the flipper overall.
