The new fish room

Great room jib!

How do you have those power-head attached filters set up? I've only got one and right now I have it filled with two small mesh bags full of smaller ceramic media instead of the tiny plastic baskets it came with surrounded by a sheet of filter floss. I traded in some of the mech for about 5x the bio.
The power head attached filters, have sponges in the plastic containers, these filters are used only in the smaller tanks.

And do you have a main display tank elsewhere? If so, what's in it?
Nope, no more tanks, just the tanks in the room, no more.

Other than that, beautiful stock. Nice work on the fish room. Your NGT is stunning!
thank you

The way they come set up new from the box is vaguely useful because it makes it easy to run carbon or whatever if need be, but the amount of filtration compared to what they can manage is pathetic. I'm using mine in a 10g crayfish/danio/snail tank along with a 10g sponge and if I were using it as recommended the tank would be way overloaded. They're cheap simple filters, but just like HOB's the main value is in how you can easily modify them to fit your needs. Not to mention the replacement filter sleeves they sell that are hideously expensive and easily replaced using cut up sheets of polyfill from the craft store.

I love my sponge filters but i'm curious how yours filled with sponge stack up against mine filled with ceramic media.

My smallest tanks are 15 gallons with feeder danios, which are slightly overloaded, but get water changes every third day.

The other tanks with this filter are all 50 gallon tanks, which are all very lightly stocked, and thus are good for a fortnight without water change.

One more update of the fishroom

This is awesome. I'll have to watch it again on my tv and not my phone to do it justice !
