Hey everyone, first off can pics be added to these forums with iPhones? If so I can than easily post up some pics of my ackie that some members have asked me about lol. So long story short I have my ackie and dragon in there enclosures that I finally was able to finish painting both and now have them hanging out in there and they both seem very happy especially the ackie and his soil...i never see him likes to burrow and only come out to bask and eat so i haven't really held him, than again i was told to let him be till he shows more boldness to be handled. So long story short I'm trying to add a second level to these tanks, by add ing some kind of platform. Have my mind on connecting pvc pipes to it to elevate it however I'm unsure exactly what to use as a platform. Was thinking melamine wood or plywood however I feel that when it gets wet it will warp. Unless you guys think melamine would work? Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks

So looking for flat platform material options that I can cut thanks!

Here's a link to my ackie setup.

I used sheet insulation board to make the shelves. A few of them are made with 1/2" plywood. I attached them to the back with liquid nails. Mind you, when I constructed this I had the enclosure with the shelves lying on it's back with the shelves facing up. I then coated them with hydraulic cement to add strength and then coated it with a layer of tan colored tile grout. This of course is much easier to do when the enclosure is not being occupied.

Thats true, currently they are being occupied, I wish I can do something like that looks really cool however Im not crafty at all lol. However I could steal the use of plywood and tile grout idea, is that keeps it water proof? Was thinking of using melamine since its pretty much water proof well at least the male amine side and the the actually visible plywood I can maybe coat it with some kind of sealer or silicone. Was thinking of just laying or glueing tiles on it for ease of cleaning. Will read through your thread tho now for other ideas

I would just cork flats. They last forever and are relatively cheap. I'll post a pic of my Quince monitor's enclosure for you tonight. You can kinda replicate it, almost verbatim, for your growout ackie.

Collect some bark from a dead tree (u can freeze them for a couple weeks to get rid of any mites or other unwanted critters)

I also bought a roll of burlap from Amazon that I've got hanging on the walls so he can utilize most of the enclosure, whether he's digging, climbing, basking, etc.

I painted all the wood in the enclosure with Drylok before I added the cement and tile grout.
