Very excited. I'm expected some juvenile L-95 Plecos from Jeff Rapps tomorrow. I've been keeping these fish since 1988 (albeit they were much rarer then) and I've only seen one juvenile that came in mixed with other plecos by accident. I have seen a youtube video of juveniles from 5 years ago, but don't know it was here in the US. They are fully colored which would seem to put to rest the notion of some that Pinecone Plecos are the young version of L-95's.

I don't think they are. You talking about the Peru Pinecone? I had a L95, was one of my favs for sure. His entire body was smooth. The Peru looks similar but the body is prickly.

Yes, for sure I agree. There have been a few including a pretty well regarded hobbyist in San Diego who though that they were sub adult L-95's. Obviously that's not the case. Here's a photo of one that I received today. They are so darn cute. Very much a miniature of the adults, but perhaps not quite as vibrant. I'd say right around 4 inches.
