yes buy they where American born and isis or other organizations turned them. most likely because they felt like they owed something to their muslim roots.
They simply convinced them that the US is an enemy of the form of Islam they were drawn into and it was their holy duty to take part in "jihad". Their holy warfare,

That's my understanding of it

many terrorist where not muslim
Hello; I guess if the definition of terrorist is expanded this may apply and get you to "many".

Omar Mateen the pulse night club shooter was born in America.
Hello; I do not know about this guy, but a person can be born anywhere and still become muslum. Think of Cassius Clay.

gain of banning people with green cards from getting into the country this is a racist and prejudice.
Hello; banning people with green cards might be an overreach in terms of a practical outcome in stopping terrorists, but does not jump it up to racist and prejudice. That is a form of spin.

not all the people who have committed acts of terrorism are from those countries.
Hello; Yes a number of the Sept 11 terrorists were from Saudi. I think the current reasoning (or excuse, if you wish) in that country is cooperating and has mechanisms in place to help "vet" folks from there.
I also gather the list of seven countries was used simply because the Obama administration first created the list. I gather he current administration figured there was to be a fight over the ban and used the already existing list to get a ban started quickly.

Back to your contention that a ban is no good because we have "home grown" terrorists already. My question is why take a chance of letting more in just because some are already here? The example of the flaw in that argument can be found in European countries where terrorists came in with the refugees.

Omar mateen arguement gets tossed out the window. Very little facts to that statement.

Hello; I thought we are discussing terrorism and the immigration ban and not a particular political individual. This may head things into a subject banned on this forum. If I answer it will further push us into forum banned territory.
Please keep your political opinions limited.
